If you made it to this blog, there’s a chance that you’re engaged, or about to be engaged. Or maybe you just want to plan your dream wedding in general. One of the most important things to consider for your wedding is, of course, the wedding date! It’s a big consideration because it allows everyone to make themselves available just for you! You do want your guests to arrive on the correct date and time, right? There are some things to think about when choosing a date: Does that time of the year call for a particular venue setting? Do you have to center your date around the venue’s availability or does the date hold a huge significance? Either way, one thing that is certain – your date plays a major role in everything about your wedding! So how do you pick the right date?
Season
The weather (and location) of your wedding plays a factor in the style and theme of your wedding. Maybe you want a fun and free-spirited wedding so more than likely, you’ll be looking at an outdoor summer wedding. If you want a wedding with a lot of pastel colors and floral decor, a spring wedding may be best. Keep in mind that, depending on the time of the year you choose to have your wedding, you want to have your guests’ comfortability in mind and of course yours too. You want people to focus on the beautiful moments and not be swayed by the complaints of the heat or cold.

Getting married during seasons may have seasonal decor at the venue.
Meaningful Dates to Honor
Every now and then a couple will decide to have a wedding that’s close to your dating anniversary. Some couples may rely on culture and/or a certain series of numbers that will be the most propitious day.
Holidays
If you wish to have some sort of Christmas decor or heart-shaped details, chances are you’re a holiday wedding couple. Certain months may help when deciding on a theme. March may show a lot of green to go along with St. Patrick’s Day. Pastel colors match Easter in April. If your wedding does happen to fall on a holiday weekend, make sure families and friends know about that.
Preference from VIP Guests
Speaking of family and friends, some of these guests may be considered top-tier VIPs. These are the people that you wouldn’t have your wedding without. Closest of friends and certain family members. YOu may want to ask them if they’ll be able to make certain dates or not. It might not be best to have your wedding during Mom’s annual birthday vacation. Keep in mind that you don’t have to cater to the availability of a hundred people. With the people you love in mind, you’ll make the right choice in what dates are possible.

Skip Certain Dates
Just skip it. Certain dates are not the best. If you or your fiance is an accountant, you may not want to get married right before tax day. After Thanksgiving is always a tough one to consider because all the sales that go on may have some people feeling tired or not 100% up to going to a wedding that day. Also, certain cultures and religions have their own set of holidays so that may limit your choices as well. The same goes for concerts, music/film festivals, or other big local events.
Budget
Some dates simply cost more than others because of demand. In the past, some dates with some significance or play on numbers garnered much popularity. For example, 07/07/07 was the most expensive date yet. Other popular dates included 10/10/2020, 10/19/2019, etc. You may be able to save by picking a less popular date if you are flexible enough. Saturdays are the most popular day of choice so to possibly save some money, you’re able to look at having your wedding on a Thursday or Friday.
